Wow, I'm officially a blogger and it's everything I hoped it would be. I have a ton of things to spout off about and now my own forum. So I am at the end of a 20+ hour weekend of ASP.Net 2.0 work to get this site up and I still have very little real functioning code. Most of my time has been spent tweaking and putting this lovely skin together (I hope you at least find it visually appealing). The next steps are to start building in things like a full discussion board, incorporate some blog software (maybe dasblog if I can find it in 2.0) and of course fill in some of the content gaps.
I look forward to making this a labor of love if you will and hope everyone will give me feedback on the content. I really enjoy reading and researching everything related to SOA and web services. Ever since a week long geurilla training session from DevelopMentor led by Aaron Skonnard I have just found interoperability and web services fascinating. Now with things like Indigo and SOA it has become even more critical that we start to understand some of the complex standards that will drive these technologies in the future.
I also wanted to take this opportunity to mention the
Indigo road show is coming and for those of you that are sitting around trying to figure out what exactly Indigo is this is a great opportunity. Especially for those of you that are regularly attending the local DNUG events this will give us an opportunity to show Microsoft we do care about the upcoming Longhorn release. Maybe they'll even keep bringing these events into our back yard!
I also wanted to mention that I'll be working on some articles very soon. One that will be a book review of David Pallmanns' Programming Indigo from Microsoft Press and another that will likely be something about SOA and the hidden costs of connected systems. Look for them soon, hopefully I can get them into ASPAlliance.
